I first knew diving many years ago but due to work commitments, I never really gotten down to it..
Until one time in 2019, when I was in a China global MNC I had much more time on my hand, being a remote work-from-home person, I literally could work anywhere in the world, and I took my laptop with me on my Open Water course in Tioman..
It didn't begin well for me, as I first hand witnessed and was in the same group as one who later drowned, presumably swept away by current, or at least that's what I held firmly to.. From that moment on, I thought to myself, had I know some rescue skills, perhaps I could have assisted in one way or another..
That day, I decided I wanted to achieve the Rescue Diver certification, and 18 months later - I got it..
After gotten my Rescue Diver in March 2021, I am now working towards getting certified in some of the major specialties and then move on to obtain my Master Scuba Diver rating this year..
Master Scuba Diver (MSD) is the highest level one can achieve in recreational diving, without going into the professional pathway.. That said, I probably want to remain a leisure diver for now..
Diving took me to places, I have dived in Phuket, Bali and Sabah, apart from my usual playground, Tioman.. Diving in different places gives me different experience, but I always firmly believe that, you are only as experienced as the many dives you've done, over and over repetitively at the same conditions..
Would you want to try diving, if not enrol in a full certification course? Do you know there is Discover Scuba Diving for those who just want to try out.
Keen to take up diving? Buzz me and I can recommend some reputable dive centers, based on my own opinion and experience.
